Vestas is developing a wind farm in the Western Downs region of Queensland near the township of Tara. The Project is expected to have a capacity of approximately 1.2 gigawatts and will invest more than $3 billion into the region.
Tara Wind Farm is committed to delivering long‑term benefits to the local community. For the duration of the Project, a Community Benefit Fund will be established and provide annual contributions of $1,050 per megawatt, equating to more than $1 million per year.
