Wind. It means the world to us.

The Tara Wind Farm is a proposed wind development that will support the Queensland Government’s renewable energy target of 80 per cent renewable energy by 2035.

Consisting of up to 164 turbines capable of generating 1.2GW of low-cost renewable energy, the Project will attract an estimated investment of more than $3 billion in the Western Downs region, creating up to 300-400 jobs during construction and 30-40 long-term.

In 2023, Vestas — the Danish global leader in wind technology — started early investigations of wind potential in the Western Downs area. The Project company, Tara Wind Farm Pty Ltd, was established to develop the wind farm. This entity is wholly owned and funded by Vestas.
